Default Forza 4 drift set ups?

Right ever since trax i've been hooked on drifting. Now i can't go and buy a s14 personally, so i did the next best thing. . . . brought one on forza

But i can't seem to find the right set up . . i've spent about 3 hours now trying to perfect it but can't find the right balance. Anyone got the hang of this? ?

Hmmmm.

It's all well and good giving him setups but IMO it's all personal preference.. I can drift any car but some IMO are shockingly shit.

Like some of my mates setups are completely different to mine!

I always use race tyres for example.. and the fattest tyres.

Basics

Rear wheel drive lol

Roll cage and stiffen up the suspension

Decent tyres

Less weight

and then sort the engine out later..

ideally no higher than S class

I have a toyota trueno thats like B class I can drift all day!

so power isnt everything, dont put a turbo on just yet as it makes it unpredictable

touch of toe out on the rear. Go too wild with it and it won't even stay in a straight line. Toe in on the front. Jobs a good'un.

Drifting with 4WD is like buying a ferrari kit for your peugeot 406...

I have roughly over 30 drift cars I've built in forza, all vary in class and spec. Over 20 of them don't have setups!

Your best off tuning a car to around S700 mark, try to stay out the R3 class. Best car I found for this is the silva k club (ps13 to you and me). Drop The skyline lump in, do all the mods apart from engine at first, should be in the A class when this is done, then choose engine mods. Normally I go for intercooler, oil cooler, flywheel, cams, exhaust and air filter. Give it enough grunt when needed, any more then this and it's over kill and the car becomes an animal.

Then just test drive it on a track that has all sorts of corners or a favourite track you love to drive, mine being maple valley full circuit as it has speed, crests, dips and flicks all in one track. Drift a lap at a time then change one thing, see if any difference then go on from there.

Most people make the mistake of changing everything and not knowing why it still handles like a soft turd in the heat of summer!

Personally I don't bother and just drift with the throttle and brake, never handbrake. Also use clutch with manual, a lot easier to kick start a slide through a corner when needed.

Hope this helps

well i cant drift a rwd car on forza lol so i have to use a 4wd cars which ive found with the r34 you can get more points than the rwd cars and get there in half the time as well (which some people dont like it lol)

You can't really call it drifting in a AWD car, like saying you can ride a bike, but with stabilisers! Lol

I couldn't drift at first with RWD, but its all control on the throttle and brake, I'm no expert at it either but you get more satisfaction from an RWD car when drifting coz its you that made the drift, not the AWD.

why not? i can get a 4wd car more side ways and controll it more than you can with a rwd car and you can do it at twice the speed. (4wd is 80% rwd)

i can drift rwd cars on every other game but i cant on forza 4 for some reason and the way i do it is i use the gears to limit my speed so i dont have to use the brakes at all (4wd method only) and dirft at 140mph and a good thing is with 4wd i can put most of the car off the track and still gain dirft points lol...
