laptops/desktop computers.. best value for money?
basically my laptop decided to pack in the other day so im considering buying a new one. i want one as cheap as possible, i dont care about graphics card or anything so long as it has a good processor and performs relatively quickly i am happy
what laptops would you recommend? i have no idea of what good makes there are except the obvious.. sony, toshiba and applemac but they all seem to be way out of my price range!
may also consider a desktop computer as they seem to be more reliable lol. if anyone could link me up to some decent deals or if anyone can recommend anything it'd be very much appreciated

well firstly you need to decide if you want the mobility of a laptop, or the speed of a desktop, once you know that set yourself a budget and work it from there.
i would personally buy all the components and build it myself, it's much cheaper and it means you can have what you want/need instead of what currys tell you you need.

i have a laptop now but i very rarely take it out of my room, if i do its only to the living room so tbh as i said,a desktop pc would be fine but i'd like the luxury of a laptop
i would build my own computer but i know i wouldnt ever be able to finish it, i'd get bored and give up

It is rarely used yeah, however the ones that do frequent it seem to talk sense these days so it's not so bad
Aren't overclockers a bit over priced though?

I bought this the other week and does me fine. I only use it for internet and photo's, no gaming or anything... Just basics.

Clearly (for a desktop), the only downside to that is it doesn't have any optical drives so you have to use an external one to install windows or do it of a external hard drive.
Or this;

Another desktop, has an optical drive so it's easy to slap windows on, will be good value for money as you don't care about graphics cards. Although you could always slap one in and have a reasonable gaming PC if you wanted to.

Check out the Dell Outlet. They sell all Refurbished Dell's. Not a huge discount on some of the lower end stuff but you can pick up a bargain there.

my last two laptops have came off ebays daily and weekly deals as they often have half decent laptops for around £200. They haven't got much at the min but its worth checking out.
