Adobe reader/writer - Saxperience

Dudes my old boy has been pestering me. He claims upstairs on his laptop he is using adobe 9 and this lets him put text into pdfs.

Personally i dont use adobe much if at all as i have a team who do that for me at work for contract and shizzle.

SO my question is, is he talking nonsense? I dont ever remember having a license for adobe "writer"

If he is what do i need to get him that will allow him to edit pdfs on his other PC downstairs thats off network
