really slow!
had my laptop a year now and its running really really slow. it takes ages to load ages webpage, ages to run a program and just generally slow.
i have deleted all the shizzle i dont want and moved my music and films to a spare hard drive so they are not taking up space.
used disc clean up
defragmented the hard drive
cleared internet history
deleted temp files
gone on to msconfig. and turned off all the start-up programs i dont need to run on startup
the only programs i have installed are itune, limewire, msn (dont really use it), uTorrent, Nero, nokia PC thingy, F-Secure(internet security) and thats it.
however, there is not really that much space on the hard drive - 5gb on the C drive and 15bg on the D drive spare.
any ideas on anything else i could do to improve it?

Increase your paging file.
turn off indexing.
create a ram clear down shortcut, to do this right click on your desktop create new short cut, paste this in "%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks" click next and save it as clear ram or something like that.
Dont use a desktop wallpaper.
Organise your files well, etc dont just save them anywere, put them in the correct folders.
If it's still running slow, than its a RAM issue www.crucial.co.uk have some great deals for memory.

It releases all the idle system processes that makes your pc run slow, usually requires a reboot to kill them off but this solves the issue .

Backup what you "actually NEED"
Then format like said before.

Linux box has been installed for 3 years still running fine... but then again it's not running Microduff is it

well when i reformat i dont loose anything whatsoever.
I made a partition which is 5gb specifically for the operating system. All my drivers and programs are on another drive, all my films and music on another, and all my other personal stuff on another, got abbout 10 drives
So when i reformat, all i loose is the operatng system, and i just have to go on the programs and drivers drive and double click on all them for abit, and its all good
then all the personal settings, like themes, wallpaper etc.

Registry cleanup usually makes a big difference.
Also, turn system restore off as this really really hogs resources and can backup at anytime without warning making your PC run stupidly slow.
Are you on vista or xp? Give http://www.blackviper.com/ a go and see if any of that helps.

Try a defrag, clear all your internet history...
Then remove all toolbars from your browser in "add/remove programs"
Then search for virus.... also delete limewire, stuff like that is FULL of spyware
