As said above, VR6 sounds immense but they're underpowered for the engine size and they weigh an absolute tonne.
One of the perks of this car is the fuel economy and insurance savings. However, things always change in time...

How would fitting a new engine affect insurance?
I'll give you the fuel thing, you'd need shares in bp to run one daily lol...

Not really an update.
Had the call today to say all is well with the Golf. Collecting tomorrow.
Saxo is now on Pistonheads and if it isn't gone by the 10th March, it'll be going on eGay. That then allows me to purchase the coil overs and banded steels. Bodywork/paint is scheduled for the two weeks starting July 8th.

It's here!!!
Collected earlier, driven 80 miles so far and has not missed a beat. Amazingly comfortable to drive and not quite as slow as I was expecting.
Only issue I have had was doing 75mph down a dual carriage way and then putting it into fifth gear. Only problem being it doesn't have a fifth gear. Ended up in third at a ridiculous amount of revs!
Photo time!
Anyone rocking up to the Castleford meet on Sunday will see me rolling in this.
Saxo is going on eBay on Sunday. The Saxo is funding everything I do to this so hopefully, it'll be on coils with some banded steels in the next couple of weeks!

Not really progress, just a good going over.
Decided it could do with a good going over before Sundays trip. The trims were starting to look abit dated so got myself some black aerosol and have them a good going over. So far I've done the bumpers, side trims and grille. Still need to do the splitter.
Ultimate Dubs on Sunday and there's a small chance I'll be coming home with some coil overs!

Right... Ultimate Dubs today. Went with Juggyluggs, Chip, the girlfriend and some friends. Promised the girlfriend that we wouldn't spend anything. It, well, didn't go well...
Brand new JOM coilovers at a bargain price that was to good to pass up. Jugglyluggs convinced me to buy them so I'm blaming him!
Hopefully fitted a week on friday.
On top of this, I've decided on a new set of wheels. Now looking for a set of VW Beetle wheels with the chrome caps, banded of course!
Project is now moving...
