Small update.
Have just purchased some high tensile M10 Bolts, washers and Nyloc nuts. I have got enough ordered so both me and Taz can get our cages bolted in. Should arrive in a few days.
Just need to look at getting some spreader plates.
I have trial fitted the cage into the car today (No pics as i forgot my camera). That wasn't as easy as i thought it was going to be. The cage doesn't seem all that bad of a fit considering some of the comments about OMP fit.
Will try get some over the next few days.
p.s rushy - Definatly has its advantages until you get i'd for Petrol ! We should catch up soon. Still in Walsall?

Right here is a pic i took of the cage in place.
Unsure if i will be using the side bars due to catching on my bucket seat subrames unless i hack into them which i would prefer not to do tbh.
Just need to get me some spreader plates now and bolt her in.

Cheers Fastroad. I have thought about a flocked dash which in time will probably come.
Only thing i haven't really paid any attention to yet is the engine!

Another small update
Firstly i have landed myself a new Job at a new Mitsubishi Garage (Been open since Oct) So i am going to be back on the spanners finally !
Right in the past few days i have been sourcing a few bits to fit the cage. With tazmania_0345 also just buying an omp cage we decided buy 2 of everything which has saved us a few quid.
Here we have a bag of 22 high tensile bolts, washers and nyloc nuts. Also i opted away from the OMP spreader plates and got another company to make me up some 3mm thick plates.
I will get the spreader plates bolted in with the cage and when im at Mitsi i will take the car and get them welded in properly.

Well well well......
Whats this an update after nearly 8 months !
Its only a small update as not much has been done to the xsi apart from getting the cage bolted down but this week i have aquired the next part in my plan.....
Voila here is a lovely cared for 106 GTI hmmm yer right !
And this is the main reason for wanting the car
The plan is to have the engine and sell everything else and scrap the shell.
