birkenhead engines mate iirc they used to be called mersey engines. They are the guys that have done all my engine work in the past cant be beaten for price tbh £20 for a port and polish, £10 for a skim. They also do a collection/drop off service and jim said he'll clean it up for me so i should get it back looking brand new

Little Update: Got the wishbones stripped and painted in the same blue as the block today and ordered a new set of rear bushes, ball joints and flowflex yellow poly bushes for them. I also decided to paint the little brace bar blue and I'll be doing the stearing arm cylinder, struts, lower engine mount and ARB in black to freshen things up.

Also the top of the engine is going to the shop to be ported and polished, skimmed and fully cleaned on friday, I'm not going to re-new the valves just yet since the engines only on 70k plus I'll be renewing them later on if I need to go for forged goodies, that and im not sure if they are 'bigger' ones going o a mission to find out

I also bought a mk1 vtr ignition setup and some HT coil leads so hope that cures the coil pack problems the later saxos seem to have, and a T25 updated heat flange so it should last longer rather than those pathetic skinny thing the turbos come with

little update

Single plug looms finally turned up, so thats going of to ryan next week with my 3plug loom to be spliced. I need to ask him to keep the mk1 coilpack plug and the mk1 alternator wires so it matches what ive got ready for the engine.

The heads been sent off the birkenhead engine center to be skimmed, ported, polished and cleaned, Hopefully ill have that back by wednesday and have the turbo cam/pulley so i can get the engine built up and timed in and put back in the car.

I need to go and pay/pick up my pred this weekend or some point soon off RAFkev so as sonn as everything else is done i can get andy (luthor) to put a base map on it so its drivable till i can get it on the rollers and sorted properly

I also got a set of floflex ARB bushes, black B&C pillar covers to match the black A pillar ones ive got and the new doorcards and rooflining. I also got a 4port 23mm M/C, I know i dont really need the 23mm M/C as ive only gone for 266's but just thought since ive changed everything else in the brake setup i may aswel do it.

just a minor update pics will follow tomoz.

Well did a little bit yesterday, Managed to tint the rear lights they look spot on I'll get pics tomoz when I get the camera from the misses house. I also managed to fit the rest of the alternator setup on only to find the belts way to big for the vtr so I'm now going to need to either fit a Vts alt setup or try and get a smaller belt to suit a vtr.
I also fitted the plasma dials and faceplate I won't be showing this off till Ive finished the interior so you can all veiw it as one
The head should return to me next week aswel as the new built wishbones. This should mean i can have it built back up by and running by christmas

Did a bit more interior work today by fitting switchs/power lines for the nos and wiring it up as best as i can till i get the power back, also drilled a few holes and fitted all my old speaker setup and some how managed to do a miles better/tidier job than the other time
I also managed to get the turbo timer and gauge soldered in and the black pillars fitted along with the sprayed door cards so its starting to look like a car again, just need to get some new lines for the nos kit and get the roof lining fitted and it'll be done on the inside

I'm going to be using a T25 mate don't wanna go any bigger as I'm not going to be chasing figures and just want a good quick car , yea it's the ferriday one mate really good quality.
From what the blokes said about the marks on the head it should be sound and look like new just think It'll be on its last skim ever when it comes back

few more little pics to continue the thread,

old wishbone against new one lol

LC1 wideband

ARB and cam cover painted

bit of mesh for the front bumper

Turbo cam and pulley

Door badges

now words...

Me being a gimp have misplaced one of the floflex ARB bushes and after turning the garage upside down cant find it anywhere. I think ive accidentally knocked it off the shelf and binned it , this means im going to have to ring the head office up and see if i can get one sent to me.

I also need to get a 8V alt pulley as the vts one is to big so trying to source a smaller one from kam.

I decided that i dont like the roof lining as its to uneven for my liking so im going to reline it with some black fabric.
2 coats

4 coats shows how uneven it drys

The heads ready for me to collect so ill be sending the looms off to ryan thursday and ill collect the head and rebuild the engine and get it all ready to drop in

and finally i treated myself to a spray gun setup with compressor and lines. I also bought some alloy filler, artic white paint, gloss black paint, 5ltrs of clear lauqer, and a KBS undercoater frame kit so i can get all the underneath/arches/bay treated and protected.

That runs me out of money till january with christmas coming up so think ill be asking for mapping of the misses for it lol

I'm on the hunt for a gt25 mate, perfect size turbo for our applications as I'm going to be running the same spec as you. Pretty much.

I've ordered a new vtr head and plan to get it ported/polished plus I'm slapping the same cam in as you. Be good to see yours built up
