Thinking of contract with EE anyone lend me some advice?
Looking at swapping over to EE and upgrading my 4S to an iphone 5 as vodafone about here are useless lately. Have no signal and calls drop and its just terrible.
Got a few questions as its my first contract:
Its a 24 month contract, what happens if say 6 months into it i cant pay the bill any more or want to cancel the contract? Do I lose the phone?
What about if I go abroad? i wont make calls, text or use the web so will I incur any charges extra?
Whats the best plan? Looking at a £36 ppm contract now which includes unlimited texts and calls and 500mb of web usage and the phone for a one off payment of £139
Lastly what happens when the contract ends? does it just roll over again for another 24 months?

I'm with EE on a 24 month contract. When the 24 months is up they will renew it unless you tell them you don't want it renewed, and you'll be eligible for an upgrade.

EE = t mobile + orange. I was with t mobile for as long as iv had a phone. Last year I switched to orange purely because they had better deals.
Never had a problem with eather and signal is always strong.
Not sure if the two are still separate. I set up as they were changing to ee .
So to add up. EE is good for me . And if you can choose. Go with the orange side.. (pluss orange Wednesdays) =p

ive just moved from vodafone as the service around here is terrible, to T-mobile (EE) i got the new xperia z for £26 a month with 500 mins, unlimited texts and data. Been with them a month now and haven't lost signal once and the 3g/hspda+ is much better than vodafone usually get around 3-4 mps where as on vodafone i would get nothing.
If you dont pay a few moths in your they are likely to block the phone and chase you for the money you owe, so only go for a contract you know you can afford. With regards to calling abroad all tarrifs are different and this will usually cost as an add on but some contracts are designed for travelling best to shop around.
Once your contract ends you have the choice to renew with an upgrade or cancel and keep the phone. hope this helps.

Orange dont automatically renew your contract after the 24 months, your previous contract will carry on until you either cancel your contract or upgrade.
Regarding going abroad if you're not going to do anything with it then why take it? When I go abroad I usually take a £10 shit phone so if I break it etc its not an issue.

Do you like having signal? If so, I'd avoid them.
When they were Orange, I never had a problem.
When they were Orange & T-Mobile I never had a problem.
Once the EE brand emerged my signal went to shit, lots of others are in the same boat.

I've never once had signal problems with EE and I live in a rural area in Scotland which is usually really bad for phone signal!

I have no problems with signal in Yorkshire (obviously some places are crap)
The only thing is, I got £36/month contract and I don't think one payment has been below £40!

This.
I had been on Orange for quite a while, then got an iphone 5 and switched to EE so that I can get 4g as soon it comes out here.
Always got decent reception, customer service is also pretty good. I pay £40 a month for unlimited calls/ texts, and 1gb download and got the phone for nothing. I haven't gone over that yet in the 5 months i've had it.
Also, you wont get charged abroad if you don't use it. You can buy different packages with certain amounts of mb's. I spent £10 on a package, can't remember the exact download limit, but I didn't use it all when I was in France for a week, and I was on it quite a bit. One bonus is that if you reach the limit, it cuts you off to stop you spending silly amounts

i was on vodafone for years but switched to EE. This was definatly for the better as i cannot fault EE for signal where i live although i know thats not the case for everyone. As mentioned before you can do a signal checker

Why? I only have 500mb and I'm on here all the time and never go over my allowance.
Also EE customer service is shite, Indian call staff have no idea what they are talking about. The insurance "clone phone" is crap unless you want a phone in worse condition than the damaged one.
Also I live in Yorkshire had perfect signal with orange and now I'm with EE i get nothing nowhere.
