Whats the programme called? Google the name of it
Press CTRL, ALT and Delete at the same time to start task manager, and see if there are any processes you don't recognise which are taking up alot of RAM
If any look dodgy, Google the file name and find out what it is
Do you have a virus scanner? Get AVG anti virus it is free and decent
Or you could do a System Restore which would restore your computers settings to an earlier date, like to a few days ago.. Sort of like going back in time, and giving you a second chance.. But this time try and hold back from clicking that dodgy Gay porn link that you got emailed to you

AVG isn't man enough these days
Before I get yelled at. I was loyal to AVG since the start however they have failed to keep all its immunisation logs updated. Yes it updates every week but they are worthless updates that are there to reassure you. Either way had aload of computer babble explained to me by a PC forum when I had a similar trouble.
To put it simple AVG is no longer a decent Free anti-virus. Not even in the Top 3
Avast as taken its spot
Id advised everyone to Download " Microsoft security Essentials "
Its free like AVG but it does a damn good job of keeping you safe without asking permission for it. Clever code
Anyway
The virus you got will keep looping around, Id suggest you use a restore point
Start >> Accessories >> System Tools >> System Restore.
Choose a recent date and restore to that point.
You will lose any work prior to that so back up before you do go ahead with it.
IF you do make a backup. Scan the Drive before introducing it back onto your Hard drive after the copy
Simples
Windows Defender, Microsoft Security Essentials, Sybot Search and Destroy = Fort Knox
Although don't get Sybot S&D unless your abit more computer literate, the really advantages need abit of fiddling

On Vista, click the bottom left button, then click Control Panel, then on the left click "Switch to classic view", then click Backup and restore center, then when that loads underneath those click "Use system restore to fix problems and undo changes"
Then go ahead with a system restore, restore it to a date a few days ago from before you had troubles

download Spybot search and destroy, and download Avast anti virus, run both and request them to do boot scans and reset the PC. when it boots up AVAST will kick in and scan each sector as its loading it, that way it can track where the virus hatches from on startup.
After that you should be fine.
if not try to revert back to a restore point, if you know when you got infected. but thats never the case!
if not, i have got a shit hot copy of windows 7 i could sort you out with. It has professional, home, and Starter. Plus it doesnt require any serial keys... MAGIC
PM if you need help

back in the 90's
Microsoft security Essentials is free and rated very highly, even amongst the paid software.
