As many people started to treat the rep system as a 'bit of fun', ultimately that is why it has been removed. 
Plenty of other forums out there if you cant live without the rep system on here.

Im sure i can still live without rep on here,just think its not as good now without it,i thought this site was open to abit of fun?

You can still have a laugh and a joke, but why do people think they need to collect rep points to spur them on to 'be bothered' to post!?
As for other forums... maybe a little harsh. Was having a bad day... but its also true. The rep system is not coming back - people need to get over that fact and stop pretending this place has 'really' changed in terms of the atmosphere and laugh and jokes between people.
The community rules haven't changed... so if people play by the rules - its the same as it was before. If people really are shallow enough to need rep to contribute, then its probably best they do find somewhere else to spam.
