Going back to a Saxo from bigger cars?
Am wondering how people got on after getting a Saxo again from having a bigger sized/engined car?
Did you miss the space & comfort, or the performance at all? Or does the fun of it make up for all that?
Now that my Civic's going, I'm thinking of getting a VTS (looking for something cheaper to run + maintain) but I'm not sure on how I'll get on being so cramped inside it and the lack of straight line speed.

Going back to a Saxo is the best thing you can do, proper fun cars to drive. Forget space/comfort.
slam it.

went from my del sol to my westie again
loved it tbh, missed the well built, not rattly side of things but much prefered driving the saxo as the del sol felt too long for me. not very technical haha but going round mini roundabouts and corners wasnt the same, missed vtec though lol

I have a Merc 190 saloon as well as the Sax, and love driving them both for different reasons. The sax is cheap to run, and fast, but the Merc is proper comfy - like driving a leather sofa!

I got in my Lass's Ka the other day and was shocked how tiny the thing felt. Although any car feels small after driving my truck for the past year. No chance I'd go back to a Saxo I've had a year of repair-free driving and am rather enjoying it.

Very tempting, but it'd be difficult to see the money again if I sold up.
It's either.. get a standard 'S for a year or so to save for something pricier, long-term VTS turbo build, or an iTB'd Honda.

That's another thing that'd bother me.
Out of my best mates only 1 isn't a Jap elitist. So would get constant bant' & left in the distance quite a lot!

they dont understand the magic of the sax
take the banter on the chin, tune a vts & leave them in your dust

Salright I'm not too fussed about the safety rating ( *touch wood*). I fancy my chances in a Saxo more than a Civic n all..

I've got a 330d auto estate, the vts is much more fun to drive and I prefer driving it... It's amazing how differently you are treated by other drivers between the 2 cars though.

I went from a Clio Mk1 to an Astra G then to a Mk2 Saxo. Really miss the extra space and power the Astra had, but I definitely don't miss the fuel consumption and just how much more difficult everything was to access while working on it.
Then again, while owning the Astra, I missed the Clio's go-kart-esque feel and it's character, so I suppose you can't have it all ways. Unless you have 2 cars or compromise on size with something a bit bigger than the Saxo and a bit smaller than the Astra.

I've got an RX8 and have recently bought the VTS as a run about and track toy and to be perfectly honest I prefer driving the VTS for fun because the RX8 rinses fuel which quite frankly the performance doesn't justify, I mean the rx8 is 228BHP and its lazy as f**k you have to drop it down a couple of gears to over take and wind it up its just too lazy for my liking but the VTS accelerates through the gears nicely.
I've also in the past had a del sol SIR and saxo VTR oh and I've also currently got a Golf GT TDI and I can honestly say I prefer driving the VTS its just so much fun lol although the golf is nice for long journeys - leather arm chair style seats ftw!

Saying that, I get alot more people flying up my arse, or booting it at traffic lights when in the BM compared to when im in the saxo.

How are you finding the performance of the VTS vs the SiR?
Tempted by the tunability and looks of a Del Sol, but parts are soooo expensive compared to Saxo bits I'm not sure if it'll be worth it.
