forums will end up with just random shite over the place because people think its cool to have massive post counts so will therefore post anything and everything to oncrease theirs

i have a large(ish) post count but then again i have been here since july 04...

i agree post boosting is ghey...but i think post count is quite important as i would take stuff like that and join date etc into account if i was buying something off here or something. so in those sort of example i think its useful

Thats true babel, altho that can back fire if something i was meant to sell you didnt turn up. I could say i posted it and everyone will say look at his post count and how long hes been here, he wouldnt scam you. Got me thinking. Wanna buy some lexus lights?

Also you have to consider bandwidth (i think thats the right word) if everyone posts shit constantly and is allowed to the site would be mega slow and eventually wouldnt be able to handle all the posts. There was a premium member word assosiation which easily had over a thousand replies, that had to go due to it slowing the site down. This was ages ago though and would of been on the old server.

Lots of forums have a 'anything goes' section. Just make it not count towards post count. It would make life easier for mods to as anything that looked like a spam fest could be moved in there.

I dont see the need for a forum section where people can abuse each other and swear at each other in the name of having a laugh? People cant behave themselves in the forums as it is and another area where people can act like idiots is not the way forward on this forum.

and agreed scott, theres not much this forum doesnt allow (as most of its in jest anyway) when you think about it, within reason obviously so in my mind an anything goes forum would be quite pointless...
