depending on mods the peak power of a vts is approx 6600-6800 so changing later than this is pointless unless on track and need to drag the gear out to save changing on a bend.

All the way to the redline (my ecu had a raised rev limit of 7500) on the strip mate!

im running 708's. in 1st i rev it to just under 7800 because of the long 2nd gear and then its about 7250 for all the rest. that will soon change though as i have an S1 rallye box im fitting today

I agree...
Change at maximum BHP to drop you back into max torque. Even with 708s, it's pointless going past 7200 really, unless you have them set up incorrectly, lol.

a good driver doesnt need to be told what rpm to change at. you can feel how much the car is putting you in your seat. ideally you want to keep it in the power band so you rev it till you feel the car power dip. i.e. when you feel it start to shove you in the back less you change!
