sorry didn't realise!
a guy off the golf gti fourm by the name of troublestarter wrote this eailer!
right where do i start
as i'm sure a load of you know by now several of us forum members have been scammed by a user on here by the name of golfgti2010
when i found this out at around 11:30 pm last night i was absolutely livid
so after some careful searching and some help from jordygti and turboben (cheers lads)i was given an address and a name
so this morning at 5am i left Colchester and drove 195 miles to derby based on this information
i arrived at 8:30 am and found the house
i knocked on the door no answer but a light was on upstairs
i knocked again and the light went off so i knew someone was in
i then peered through the glass of the front door and caught the handle with my elbow and the front door popped open
so i poked my head inside an absolute rough old house and shouted HELLO!!!
next thing i know some teenage lad around 18 comes down the stairs
i said hello mate are you craig jones
to which he replied no i asked him to get me some i.d and he said he did not have any
so i asked him his name and wait for it he said NIK
so i said nik hewitt (probably one of the internet most prevalent scammers) by any chance
and he said yes
i then said i'm troublestarter from golf gti forum and you could see the colour drop from his face
he then started to back away towards the stairs
so i hade met him face to face or should that read face to fist(well almost)??if you catch my drift
so i threw my entire 16 stone weight on him and pinned him down explaining that he owed me £100 and several other forum members lots of money
he said it was not him but he will give me a £100
i then rang the police and waited for them to turn up
when they did i explained the situation and how far i had travelled to sort this out
to which they replied he is well known for this and has just gotten out of prison
he then kicked up a fuss wanting to press charges for assault and the police said that he always tries this and they will not accept his complaint
so he gets arrested and i follow the police toi the station to give them all the evidence amassed on her last night
and whilst being interviewed (2 hours in total) the police explained that since we had been in the interview room they had received more calls of complaint against this guy
so to cut a long story short he is now on his way back top prison and the ploice reckon i will get compensation for the loss of the £100 and also loss of earnings and fuel expenses
so if anyone here has been conned by this kid
here are the details of the dealing officer
PC 3424 Barrett
tel:03451233333
crime number 129-16/02/10
please get in touch with them and help keep this little thief locked up

This should be made stickie imo, give it a better title to warn off other scammers! Or link this thread to the suspected scammers, maybe it will hit home and they will either refund, send the items or stop scamming.

i still dont get why people pay into bank accounts under the names nik hewitt, espec as there are hundreds of threads on that name on the web.
Most people also seem to just whinge about it and dont report it, the more reports the more chance he has of being ruined by a big man in prison

Awesome job dude...And bloody glad that the coppers seemed decent. You could have left yourself WIDE open for assault charges and false imprisonment. Lucky sod and I'm glad this scumbag has had what's been coming to him!
