Proof of postage means nothing and will not help this situation. Proof of receipt is what is required.

Not only buyers need to protect themselves, sellers do too. Sending an item recorded shouldn't cost the seller, you should negotiate postage before completing the deal.

We can't ban someone because someone says so, we need proof.

P90s lights. Its v unlikely that the guy smashed the lights himself wouldn't make sense as he provided pics of the lights and would be a waste of his time to buy something, smash it, then have the hassle of getting his cash back?

The ops problem is with royal mail, if his mum works there, surely she will know or will know someone who can advise the op what to do.

We send all royal mail post recorded delivery so we have a record of delivery. Proof of postage is all but useless to everyone involved.
You need a lot to make paypal believe the seller as the buyer holds all the cards. Even then you are unlikely to win.

With proof of postage i believe you have some level of insurance that you can claim vs Royal Mail after 3 weeks?

indeed. We now get more security for a cheaper price so its a no brainer.

vtrlogan. What makes you think its not royal mail just 'losing' the item? From experience I know it happens and even with recorded delivery its hard to get your money back...

well after he not saying anything for 2 weeks.. then on the second week he pms me saying he dont have it..

now i said it should be with 3-5days.. and he emailed me 15days later now i no if it was me i would off sent messages on the 5th day.

Its to late to do anything now. he won on paypal. and at the moment im far to busy working to go down the post office and try sort it. my mum dont think i will get anything back as we dont have any proof off weather he got the item or not.

Shame really. personaly i think this forum is getting bit annoying.. i made a for sale thread which i personaly fort was a resonable price.. 300 for gti interior with door cards.. then 10 mins later some one replys saying he seen some minter ones go on ebay for 147..

Getting really annoying. after being here for a good few years. just seems like its going down hill.

Its a shame that the post office makes you feel that way but calling the guy a liar when you have no proof isn't really on, you're putting sellers off selling to him when no one can prove a thing.

Do you just not understand that MAYBE, just MAYBE it actually did get lost in the post and he DIDN'T receive the item? i lost my 42 quid for a strut brace i paid 60 for.. soo altogether i lost 102quid.. think i have the right to be slightly annoyed.. call me a chav.. couldnt give a shit.. not once have i said im a big time boxer/cage fighter.. i just enjoy it.

and also making threats is going to sort it. as if i now see his car with the strut brace it will be solid proof to me that he scammed me to shit. and which also means i will be taking my strut brace back simple as.

Once again, you miss the point. Just cos you sent it, doesn't mean it fucking arrived at his house, in which case why the fuck should he pay for it? Nobody disputes you SENT the damn thing, but just because you sent it, doesn't mean he's got it. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

What if you see him and there is no strut brace? What then? Just gonna mug him for £42? Go and mug any randomer out on the street, cos at the moment, they owe you it as much as he does.

get a better pic of that reciept and it's all sorted chap.

That way it proves that you did send the item and it's been lost in the post. Therefore it's not your fault or gooch's.

The only reason we're having difficulty believing this as a forum is because we've not seen any proof of sending other than a blurry pic of a royal mail reciept.

If it turns out that this gooch lad has had the brace off you and is claiming that he didnt recieve it then more fool him and he deserves what's coming to him. But once again there's never going to be any proof that he recieved it.

Dave - Dont think there's any need to get personal and call the lad a chav, he's clearly annoyed and will naturally be hot headed.

end of the day even 'if' you see him at a show, you're going to have to blatently mug him as he wont willingly give you the cash back, so then he goes to police, gets his money back 'again' and you get a record. maybe you'll use physical force, give him a punch or two, he'd get money off you for that too...

'if' he does have the strutbrace, it won't be on his car at the show after you've been mouthing off anyway.
