Wiring and Electrical forum? Edit - Motorsport/Track prep' forum?
Not really sure what forum a wiring question should fall under so a separate one would be handy, for all those loom questions etc.

Could be useful for peeps modifying looms or going 'motorsport'?
Maybe a more general motorsport prep, track prep, or something forum would suit, for more 'high end' technical queries??

I agree with a more technicle section, rather than the "how do you remove the glovebox handle" and "spax or raceland" type threads.
Id like a more motorsport orientated section, as at the moemnt I use other forums for that area.
Wouldnt there still be poeple posting basic questions in there though? Id like a sort of Intelligent discussion section lol. You get the everyday vtr or vts type question and you get very basic replys but then ive got a thread where it got a more in depth answer and not the simple vts>> answer.

Would love to see a forum section around this sort of topic.
Wiring at the moment is my achilles heel which id love to learn more about too. Basic wiring and knowing whats safe to remove is my limits but id really like to rewire my whole car.
Learning from some others would be very beneficial

I should of took loads of step by step pics today. Sorted the interior loom out, removing the PAS and ABS wiring aswell as all the other wiring for 'comfort' electrics.

A tech section would be good. Just somewhere for the specific Q's.
As db_sax said the other forums get cluttered.

Have got as far as removing all the unnecessary wiring, all done properly rather than just randomly snipping the wires off.
Amazing how i somehow had a full interior loom including electric mirrors, electric windows, ABS, PAS etc etc all of which the car never had.
Also fully removed all stereo wiring. Literally got a bin liner full of wires, i have no doubt theres plenty more bits that can go now. Theres about 8 wires from the immobiliser plug yet no standard immobiliser used having fitted the OMEX but thats wiring i dont dare touch without some further expertise lol.
Would like to get rid of the fuse box from the engine bay too and run everything internally

Certainly would love something similar in mine, to have everything all in the same place and done neatly. Untidy wiring is one of my pet hates.

Sounds good to me.
But problem is, there are so many aspects to prepping the car, you could then split the forum into subforums then it could become a right mess lol.

But then how many technicle discussions do you actually see posted. So they could all go in one section I reckon easy enough.

True, what seems techicle to someone like what torsion bar setup, maybe simple to one of us.
These are the sort of threads I think would fit into this section, and without being in this tech section would be lost n buried without a search.
Injector CC = What potential Power
Adsayer getting technicle with his drawings..
Advantage of vtr over vts, not highley technicle, but more in depth than the usual thread (on this page the posts ive thanked)
& anything generally posted by GMC...or the type of threads that are on rallyereg and ssc. Just threads looking more into the physics etc. Not necessarily to do with saxo's but motorsport in general. A section which is liek a motorsport engineering course at uni lol
Obviously theres going to be different levels of technicality as ive already said though, so you'll still get noobs posting 4,2,1 or 4-1 and getting a simple answer.

PErsonally if you had a section to do with electrical it could be worth having some control upon those who can reply to it?

Then you get new members that know alot more than already proved members and its just restricting the good advice from being given. Such as that motorsport tv presenter guy. He was giving some indepth answers but he wouldnt be able to post in that section as hes just a new member.
It has potential, but hard to have organised.

Thats kinda what im saying though.
If you control who can give advice then how are new members that are hell of alot more knowledgable than already proved members going to post in the section?

By becoming active within other sections, you think people won't still ask about all this in the saxo problems section?

Then they request to go in this new section or a mod promotes them or something?
Its possible, but then usually the poeple wanting a more technical answer will have the sense to put it in this new section. It would be the other way round more likley with basic q's in the tech section. Unless you do control who posts in it like you said.

i think an electrical section woul be an awsome help, id like something like this to be set up, mechanically im pretty clued up, but electrically i only know the basics-intrmediate stuff, be a good learning point....also find myslef reading up alot of info on megasquirt atm as im considering making my own for the car next year, would be a decent place to get/share advice and info on stuff like this
