I've had a load of saxo clocks and they have all over read by about 10%
Oh I see, you guessed at a 2 mph discrepancy throughout the range? Doubt it - the mechanics of the speedo dictate that the error will increase with speed
The speedo error is usually linear, about 10% through the speed range. Same when people say their saxo has done 140 mph it's more like 126
I could do the maths if it was worth it, would be easier for you to just get it measured properly tho
Net result, no one but you believes the 0-60 time. I'm sure you don't care and nor would I, i'd just be interested to see what you say when you do a proper test

I'm not far from Sheffield, and i'dve had a bit of a problem with trying anything, since the 106 is now missing most of it's parts.

I can't tell you what your 0-60 time is, i've not been in your car, i've not tried to time it, i've not even seen your car, but, if I had to guess, i'd say it was mid-high 9s, at best.

I think you are a bit puddled mate. Too much alcohol? I never guessed any such thing, in fact I stated the error at 60. But this is getting silly dont reply any more.

You're positive that Im wrong without seeing my car yet you can only guess what the real figure is without seeing my car. Go on then tell me what the speedo error is at 9.7 secs

I'm positive, because without something that you're not telling us (ie the engine's not standard/the car's been on a massive diet/you're using slicks), then as far as i'm concerned it's not physically possible for a 75bhp/850kg car on normal road tyres to do 0-60 in 8 seconds.
Feel free to prove me wrong, preferably using accurate timing gear opposed to a stopwatch and your speedo.

I'll tell you; for it to clock 9.7 but show 8secs there must be a 21% speedo error and that my time is actually to 49mph, Which is quite plainly ridiculous.

do some research yourself then? if you are so cocky that nobody on here knows how to modify a car then how are they going to know you're nearest testing station?

I think its funny that the most popular thread in the engines section is one of people shouting back and forth and getting quite worked up about a guy and his 0-60.
woops, did i say 0-60, I meant 0-whatever you all decide it is.

Are you working off of what your speedo is showing on the video, after a given period of time (8 secs), and then using that to calculate speedo error?
