Ive got a 1.4 furio too had some light crash damage and got it cheap off a mate so going to probably repair it and maybe whack a BIG GOODY in it...But its another project along with the rs turbo...vtr...vts etc so feck knws..I have too many damn cars

mine will be alot quieter than his due to my airbox, but should mean the inlet system is cleaner for day to day use..
would rather have my mates car which is insane, mine will be lighter and have a better box though so hes running scared.

There was also quite an impressive 306 with a 1.9 205 lump on weber carbs, 40s i think of the top of my head - i thought 15.3 wasnt a bad time for it (well pretty sure thats what it ran!)
What are your thoughts of an S lump on 45s?
Undoubtably TBs are great and better for performance tho generally..

The initial question was for vts 1/4 times, but any guesses on what a vtr hits?
From what i saw 17s+ ?
Last year mine did a 16.8 not far off standard.
But its quicker now!

on a set of webber 45s? or as previously asked 45mm bodies?
id personally not want to put an s lump on carbs,
i feel its a big backwards step, particualrily as they are less reliable than an injection system of throttle bodies, and can run very erratic depending on the weather compaired to the temperature they are mapped at etc...
having said that someone i know has an s2 rallye on bike carbs, sounded fantastic... although He still couldnt get near me on track in my vtr

ill try and dig out the old ssc 1/4mile board, had alot of info and specs to consider.
one of the fastest cars was a tbd engine + nos, goerge leek, he had pt52s at the time irc but not 100% sure.
ive seen higher specs run alot slower etc..

In answer to the original question I would say a standard 1/4 mile time for a vts is going to be near 16s
Mine ran a 15.2 @ 90mph on standard cams/ecu recently but was stripped out completely

leeroy that your mate with TBs?
|
Nope he never got a chance of a good run
But 3 of my mates have had under under 15's AT York
Just breathing mods, filter decat manifold stripped
Both yellow gti's did it 14.9 and a 16c rallye did it 14.7

something i like to see is floatlites car low down the list there, a great spec car there. Alot would really struggle to beat it round a track, but only in the 15s. proving my point from earlier
my engines also on the list aswell lol
