Got a 3G for £90, off a friend of a friend who was desperate for money for drugs. Paid 50%, then another 50% a week later to make sure it wasn't going to get barred as oson as I'd paid for it.
Went on to sell it on eBay for £230.
Gotta love exploiting scumbags.

yeah but then id have to pay off my blackberry contract and thats only like 5-6 months in!
if i could of just swapped the sims over, same network like as both phones would be on vodafone! then i would of got it!
and when i got bored of it, sell it on and keep my BB as its in mint condition like!

there is always that, but my pet hate is people who buy things cheap or for face value but much sort after such as gig tickets...
put them on Ebay and sell them for 2,3,4 times the price they are worth!
i personally dont agree with it, so i wouldnt do it.

theyll get locked by apple as soon as you sync them,i found a 3gs in town,payed to get it unlocked and as soon as i plugged it in they locked it.only good for a paper weight now.

but your not getting them at 'face value'
i don't know how people say that, theres good money to be made, you could easily sell them for £400 which tbh will be quite cheap on ebay for a 4g

Because you have to register them with apple when thiere new,and you have to install the updates every few months.Everytime you sync them with itunes it goes through apple.Unless you jailbreak them and then you cant update them which is useless.

you can pay o2 £15 to unlock the properly and then they will sink, but thats only on pay as you go phones or out of contract phones iirc

I'm running 4.0 on my 3g just now, fully jailbroken and customised.
Just waiting on 4.0 coming out for the 3gs!
