Default Wiring an amp

Wiring subs and amp etc in to the Mrs clio (await the mandatory "pics of girlfriend comments") and done everything nicely etc but just one left, the remote wire. Where can I wire this too?
Tried in the sidelights in the back lights and number plate light so the sub will only be on when the sidelights are on but neither worked well.
Any where else that's nice and easy? I can't really be bothered feeding it all the way to the front to the cig lighter or whatever

Default Wiring an amp

Just run it to the remote live on the stereo like it's supposed to be, iv tried other things in the past and you will suffer fluctuation.

It's usually the blue wire or the blue and white striped one

As above, just do it back to headunit, can't be that difficult on a clio

Ok cheers. There is a blue wire behind the head unit that isn't plugged into anything but the radio forgets settings everytime the cars turned off so would that also explain it? Guessing it's the remote power wire

Yes. Do like this. Other ways are not smart to do...

If it's forgetting settings on a after market CD player one of the live wires is the wrong way around, and sounds like the chap if your not sure just crack multi meter on it should be 12v with ignition on and 0v off.

I haven't actually done any wiring though, all I've done is plugged in it using an adapter from halfords?

This man is correct. The red and yellow ones which have connectors in, that is. Unplug, switch and plug back in.

And yes, plug the remote into the blue or blue/white wire in the wiring harness. It shouldnt be connected to anything before this.

Why when you had the headunit out to install it and run the phonos to the amp did you not run the remote cable at the same time?! Installing it to side lights/number plate lights is all kinds of stupid

It's not hard to get unit out so I'll do that!
Wiring to sidelights is just an easy way because it also means you can have the radio on with the engine off without the subs on so won't drain the battery!
