Decks You Use?
DJ's on here, what Decks do you use, whether it be for cutting/scratching and just general turn-tablism or just mixing? I know most people will say the SL-1210 but there's many other decks out there other than the Technics..

Well When i used to Dj my general setup was 2x cdj1000 mk3's , djm 800 and a efx 1000.
i also had my early djlessons on mk1 cdjs with a djm 600.
Tried for ages to learn how to use vinyl but the digital age took over and i could never grasp the concept. and had difficulty is beat matching as i didnt have a proper visiable bpm gauge.

I had a set of DLP1R's to learn on, then moved up to 1200's. Recently sold them though, as I wasnt using them anymore. Ended up taking them apart after getting the schematics, to mod them so theyd spin a tad faster - I was into mad gabber.

Until you can throw a set of the stantons down a set of stairs, and then continue to use them they wont ever touch the 1210s.
Reason the 1200/1210 was/is so widely used is because they are so durable.
Vestax tried to piss on the bonfie about 5-6years ago but didnt really do alot other than a few scratch djs who wanted something new.

The 1210 is and will always be the industry standard, simply because of the massive slab of lead in the base. Manufacturers just aren't allowed to do that any more!
In answer to the question, I prefer mixing on cd, but still remember the good ol' days of vinyl

I started out on Soundlab DLP-3's, then bought a set of Technics SL-1210's about 7 years ago, they were second hand then, I paid £300 for the pair and tbh I'd get that again now if I were to sell them on.
Just another reason why theyre so good.

I had some Gemini TT-03 tables, were pretty cheap, but I really liked them.
