O2 are no longer the sole provider of the iPhone in the UK

Orange have struck a deal with Apple and T-Mobile are currently still in talks.

Hopefully the contract prices will drop slightly or at least offer tethering at a more realistic price.

Heard about this last week in an Orange newsletter i get.

Good times, lets hope that they actually make an iPhone that doesnt fail most days. Everyone I know has had theirs replaced at least twice since the 3G and the 3GS!

Im on Orange so may get one in upgrade in March '10

Finally. Hopefully this will mean far more competitive contract prices. I am happy to stay with o2 as a service provider but they did pull your pants down with iPhone pricing imo.

orange seem to be doing big business just now as alot of new phones seem to be orange to start off with with the other companies afew months later.

Hmm, I don't know about that tbh.

All networks seem to have exclusive phones. Orange weren't particularly great for a choice of phones when I wanted to upgrade. Neither was their customer service.

tbh that was based on my limited look at the n97 and motorola dext like haha And all appear on orange although the n97 on vodaphone as well like.

I think T-Mobile are in talks with Apple about them getting it also.

I just want one for pure music/apps/internet/calls in one thing, rather than having a phone, an iPod and a decent digicam.

Although all these rumours about the 3GS failing are a bit dodgy but a clos mate of mine owns a 3GS and his screen cracked right in front of him, was only texting someone and a small shard of the screen hit him in the eye! Just hope they sort that sh*t out. Not good for a phone to go attacking its owner.
