laptop to tv connection troubles?!?!?
i have bought a vga to 3 rca cable to connect my laptop to my tv but i cant get it working, i have searched every where on how to do it but found nothing any ideas? the 3 rca end is red blue green

That would be VGA to component cable then. Does your TV have component sockets? If not, it won't work.

tv does have component sockets ive got it all plugged in just cant get it working

right click background on main screen, properties, settings, then click the 2 in a box, then click the box that says extend my windows desktop into this monitor

If he is using the VGA cable then I suspect this is where he is going wrong.
