Default Laptop Problem - Help!

Pretty Much i have a Acer Aspire 6920g

http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Acer_...05/version.asp
Was a present from the Parents for uni. Tis about 3 months ish old.
What happened was i was using it whilst it wasn't plugged in. Went out with friends and forgot to turn it off, then when i fully charged it the next day it would switch on... would switch on and off then back on again and just have a black screen, the touch media controls on the side would work and the bluetooth was on.
Took it to a guy who checked it over and said it was a problem with the battery. He did something to the CMS and it seemed to work again.

When i took it home and checked it the list of problems seemed endless.
Problems are:
Wireless not working sometimes
Scroll bar on the track mat not working
On the touch media control, none of them work
doesnt save the time or date and wont let you sync with internet time servers
Sub has stopped working
Media Card Reader has stopped working
Fingerprinter Scanner stopped working

the list continues. Phoned acer and they said it sounds like when the battery died it may have wiped some drivers. Problem is Acer dont supply the driver disc with the laptop as they save the drivers on the hardrive apparently
I can send it back to Acer but due to the time it takes to get back i cant risk it as i need it for uni
any one got any ideas where i can get the drivers from online? any other help is appreiated (sp)

sorry for the read lol

Sounds like you will have to send it off. The quicker you send it, the quicker you get it back.

The cmos stores the bios settings and the time and date when ur computer is off, the battery just powers it.

go to their support site and download the bios update from there.

double check the version of your current bios, if its older than the v ersion of the downloading one, update it. If not, don't.

Try your current version first, redownload the 1.07 BIOS and try that. If nothing seems to be rectified once the BIOS update has been done, go for the newest version.

I've just looked at the Acer Support site and it lists v1.10 and v1.14 to download for Windows Vista 32-Bit for the 6920G. Try the v1.10 first, then the v1.14 if you are seeing these listed too when on the Acer Support site.
