Cam covers fitted and the oil filled up. So engine has now been serviced bar gearbox oil and fresh water and antifreeze.
Here's a pic of the covers:
And the oil I used (just cos I took a picture of them :-/)
Thanks to RossDagley for the inspiration

Well, had a shit of a day today and not really done anything to the car since I fitted the cam covers.
Boony came over with the driveshaft for me but i'd got mixed up and he brought a tapered one when I need non-tapered!
Dozy bugger I am!
Anyway. I still need a driveshaft if anyone has one for cheap/free
As soon as I get the shaft in I can get the back end up and swap the beams over. Hopefully after that, I can drain the brake fluid out and get the brakes done. Then it's a case of trying to clean up the interior, get the seat rails welded in and the seat mounted, Then all that's left is to get it MOT'd. Just hoping I can get the last few bits sorted asap so I can get it out on the road!

Jay, the track is booked and paid for already
Muzizzle, Don't know what power but the same mods on my VTR gave an extra 10bhp so IF the engine is running okay then it "should" be about 130BHP and I've stripped out roughly 90 - 100Kg from the car. I know of a weighbridge on the way to the trackday that I might get on just to check final weight. I'm hoping it'll be around the 800 Kg mark it will give me about 165BHP/ton!!!! lol. Should be plenty for now!

How did you do your covers Alan? They look great!
Am I right in believing they're 'textured' / rough?

The covers are actually pretty smooth compared to how I wanted them BUT I'm still well happy as they are a million times better than the flaky red paint that was on them! I know it was just an aesthetic mod BUT it didn't cost much and it just tidies up the engine bay a bit
Muzizzle, Keep an eye in the track section, I'm sure I'll be at a few more tracks throughout 2012
Payney, cheers buddy, it's been hard last week trying to keep motivated with the shit weather but it's getting their slowly but surely.
Just got a few last bits to do and it'll be ready.
