Default VTR Exhaust and Air Filter

I heard somewhere on here a couple of weeks ago that taking the Inlet and Exhaust Manifolds, as well as the Exhaust from a VTR, and putting it on a 1.1 would improve the performance of the 1.1.

Firstly is this possible, and how difficult a job is it? EG Is it just like for like replacements or will it require some work to fit them.

Secondly will this actually improve the performance or anything of the 1.1, I would imagine it would slightly, but if so just wondering how much? Also I love the throaty growl from a VTR when you put your foot down, will this be the same on a 1.1, or is that engine specific rather than filter/inlet manifold specific.

Sorry if this is a bit noobish
