Yeh, nice and easy the hardest bit is shaping the front, where it meets the upstand in the boot as its a bit of a weird curve.

Just use the pics on page one as i guide

Would recommend buying some 3"x2" timber for supports though, instead of making your own

Put a sheet of A4 paper over it, then got a pencil and drew round the very top of it to give me a rough shape, then i measured it and sqaured the corners off and drew it on to the MDF (i used an off cut of 12mm iirc could used thinner though ).

I then cut it out with sqaure corners, then sanded the sides back until they fitted, then rounded the corners, then chamfered the underneath so it sits flush.

Its just alot of trial and error, cut/file a bit, test it in the centre console, make amendments and just keep repeating it until it sits right.

Once you've got it sat nicely you can start cutting/drilling the holes for whatever it is you want to fit in there.

Once you've drilled/cut everything give it a couple of coats of your desired paint (i used matt black) and you've got yourself a centre console insert

Its a simple job just time consuming and requires a fair bit of patience.

If you want the rough measurements i can measure mine to give you a head start?

If you could that would be great mate, cos i want to mount three circle rocker switches to it and a a dock for an ipod to sit in, just pm me the measurments

Mini Update

Morgiee, if you still need the measurements i'll try and take them tomorrow (providing i can open the car door), i'll write myself a note because i know i'll forget otherwise

Won't be much progress on the VTS front for a month or so, but after that updates should be coming thick and fast!
