Strut braces fitting
Anyone know the recommended way to fit these?
Have heard rumours they should be fitted with no load on suspension (so with the wheels in the air) and then tightened with the wheels on the floor?
Anyone know the torque settings for doing the nuts up afterwards?

No they have torqud settings for the standerd bolts.
Do it with the wheels on the floor, otherwise the strut drops down!

Haha just a minor update as the car is basically standard apart from the braces and you can actually feel a difference. Im not sure £100 worth of difference but its still there.
Makes me want to do more to this piddly thing seeing as the shell is so so good even if it is a 5 door. Its a 97 and my old car was 01 and that had a messier engine bay in terms of rust than this. Maybe indigo is good paint?

The 1.4 75bhp engine i do believe.
The main difference is if you enter a sharp roundabout about halfway round the front feels a lot tighter and the rear wheel feels like its literally in the sky. I have just removed the spare wheel though.
Also when its wet the front feels planted and the rear just want to head towards wherever you were facing beforehand!
Well when i say removed i mean the claw bit that holds onto the cage snapped off going round a roundabout and my spare wheel went flying down the road somewhere...oops.
I noticed in my old 16v that on rough country roads with the braces the car squirmed around everywhere and felt really iffy at say 100mph always following lorry grooves and imperfections on the road.

An upper strut brace has always seemed pointless to me. if you look at a saxo, the bulkhead is almost in the same plane as the strut tops. so this is in effect bracing them pretty dam well
