Well guys, those of us without trailers are going to be having fun!
Has anyone with a road legal track car had their MOT yet?
Mine's imminent!

rallye has no airbags and abs ect as standard so would benefit as the gti i now have should have it all so id fail
My car has a map to pass emissions and a dummy cat so tester will visually see a cat in the system but it does fuck all lol
Only if they bring in the standard ecu rule im screwed but mines hidden away im sure a bit of loom and oe ecu sat in place for the day would fool them lol

Mine through it's mot today. flew through. although i was warned about the regs and that some places might be stricter. my seats dont have adjusters, so can't fail. and on my certificate one of the many track orientated advisories was "008 No SRS system fitted at time of test - unable to determine if fitted from standard"
So if the tester isn't a dick you should get through okay

Alex, its basically the same as before, fully removed with no warning lights and your car should be fine unless the tester is a tight tight arse.
Emissions are the same as before but a cat has to be visible.
ECUs are fine as long as the wiring isn't a disaster.

Airbag one is easy enough to blag, remove everything so theres no sign of anything present then just buy/fit for MOT a standard S2 Rallye or earlier standard steering wheel that looks OEM.
It looks like the 'if its not there it can't fail' rule applies, but if theyre unsure, then if a standard Citroen/Peugeot non airbag wheel is fitted then they can't argue with that.

Our engineers are aware of the situation, and it is currently their
intention to issue an amendment to the manual to state that specialist
modifications (eg for rally cars) should be accepted at MOT.
Wonder how long it will take them to do this.
Mines gone into garage to be preped for mot (few things needed sorting and just havent got the time) so mot should be next week fingures crossed

Have i missed something here? have the MOT rules changed? Do I need to stick a dummy cat in to pass an MOT now?

with all the new changes iam now really glad i spent the extra time and effort sourcing a mint j plate 106 shell.
no cat, no airbags, no nothing.
having said that, a friends car went for mot last week and was put through on a non cat emissions test, the options still there... for the meantime anyhow!
