I'm not knocking JBL but thats not what I would choose. They sound alright and are pretty good for the money.

Yer, obviously there are better makes out there, which is why all my audio isnt JBL, but i do like them!
The thing is with this jodie, if you spend like £500 on equipment then you're gonna have to do more than just stick them in and hope for the best.
You need to look at the big three, 0 gauge wiring throughout, uprated alternator, uprated battery, maybe a second battery. It starts to get really expensive then!

I do realise all that but i'm not thinking this install will happen overnight so just kinda wanted to see what i could get for my money and then sort it all out in time.
tbh i think it will just do my head in that much that i won't bother with it and end up in halfords buying a crappy mutant stuff instead!!

Then you'll end up with a crappy system tbh. No pain, no gain. One of the best sites on the internet to do with car audio is http://www.talkaudio.co.uk. Before rushing in and buying anything do some research on there, read the forums. Do a post like this one you did on here. They will give you some fantastic advice and steer you in the right direction.
My 2p's worth.

I would suggest running 0 gauge wiring but a second battery and an uprated alternator is not necessary as your not running a huge system.
I ran 2x 12's / 3 amps and a power grid on a standard alternator and battery and it was fine.
To get the sound you want also comes down to box tuning. A well designed box always helps unless your just gonna get a box from halfords or somewhere like that.

That Pioneer sub is 3000w but wonder what the real RMS read out is. I'm sure it will be pretty good but there are better sounding subs out there for around the same money.
