1. money
2. somebody selling a vts
Never understand why people waste time and money like that when you could go buy a vts !?

I've thought about this and can't help thinking it would just be cheaper, easier and less bother to just buy a VTS. Clearing it with the insurance company would probably be a pain too.

its funnnnn! i love my vtr inside and out, i hate the vts interior, and i can use a spanner. £250 has (provisionally) just got me everything i need to do a full vts conversion apart from the gearbox and i already have a vts box on.
in response to the original post you'll need a vts radiator and fan, and a vtr box will fit but will make it slowww

im hoping i can just re-register with the dvla and insure it as a vts, if not i'll go with a specialist company and declare the engine as a mod

i wouldnt recommend it at all its so much cheaper just to buy a vts instead and sell ur current car i cant even begin to tell you the complications you can have with a conversion like that. I was going to do the same to my 1.1 106 but i thought no this is getting silly now by the time i would of finished the conversion i could of bought a excellent £4000 possibly more value 106 gti. but instead i went with the VTS i got a great bargain for only £1500 i got a 2000 vts with a magnex exhaust all trimmed interior in corbeau boss seats £750, carbon enclosed green filter induxtion kit £200 and a set of wolfrace wheels with goodyear eagle f1 tyres which cost the owner £140 EACH!! now thats a bargain

yeah i agree, tbh its easier to sell the vtr, buy a vts and just transfer any mods from the vtr to the vts and use the standard parts off the vts to replace the mods on your current car. then sell your current car standard and that will get you a bit more money, and you will have your car now but a vts.

your right lee its not a big complicated conversion and provided your pretty clued up you should source bits pretty cheap. I mean at end of day wots the point in sellin ya vtr 2 buy a vts which your gonna end up spending more money on i.e lowering and stuff that u previously did 2 ur vtr plus it recycling i.e using spares
