Default Passed the static , failed the drive by

Did a track day today at croft 88 db limit.

I passed the static test @ 86 db 3/4 max revs

Failed the drive by 80 db

The exhaust was a saxsport with a center box added

I was not the only one to fail the drive by, 5 others failed

We just had to coast past the track side microphone every lap . It lost at least 3 - 4 seconds a lap. But beat going home.

Looks as though I need to make the exhaust quieter again.

My old work (made redundant on Friday) use to have a evo mate that failed every track day noise reg at croft.

He tried everything and in the end he got a tip made that fastened to the end of his exhaust with a clamp that directs the noise to the ground so the sound waves bounce on the floor before being picked up by the drive by mice's.

could be worth a try it can reduce noise by up to 18%.

Just a Idea.

I've bought a saxsport with m/s cat hoping the cat will help reduce noise, time will tell...

It would be handy if these exhaust suppliers had detailed info on db levels.

I take it you don't have bodies fitted ? They'd really light up the db meter on the drive by!

My supersprint with middle box was only 83 dB sound like the saxsport maybe alittle louder.

But yer most track days are about 100db limits seem low.

surely this depends on the track though? you go to another low noise track that is the opposite direction (clockwise-anticlockwise) then it will be even worse?

and i never been pick up on drive by, and been to cadwell, rockingham and snetterton.

i have come to the conclusion that tracks with strict dB levels, there not much point me going to them make it easier.
