Default BOOTMGR is missing...Windows 7

Hi guys. I'm installing windows 7 for my mate. His mate bought a copy and your allowed upto 3 people to use the same code or something? Beats me, but he did a copy for him so i'm trying to install it. It says it installs fine but when it restarts it comes up BOOTMGR is missing press Ctrl, Alt + Del to restart with no other options, then keeps saying this everytime. If i boot from the CD and click repair windows instead of install i can search for drivers. I search the disc and there is 2 files called BootMgr and BootMgr.efi i think it was, but there not in the folder called "boot", there "in the middle of nowhere" if you want to put it that way. Is that maybe why its not booting up? If so is there any way i can get them files into the boot folder? I don't mind having to burn the disc again as i've load of discs. Thanks

keep pressing f8 on bootup, theres should be an option for repair windows, you want to try and get to fixmbr i believe although the more recent versions just have startup repair

yep deleted it 3 times, tried to install it again...same thing. Tried the repair windows, 3 times. Still comes up the same thing. I'm thinkin if those bootmgr files aren't in the boot folder then when its installing them it won't be able to find them? Is this a possibility?

I did help

I assumed that if you had actually tried google first, your problem would have been sorted without the need to post on saxp. In other words, try to sort out your own problems before assuming people will do it for you.

the first link to pop up in the google search provides a very detailed guide on how to fix this problem. It is such a lengthy process that I can't possibly be arsed to retype it all, and provide guide pictures since it's all up there already. follow that link and get it sorted http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...windows-vista/

not sure if SaxP IT help was intended for mates of mates of mates in the first place mate. Maybe your mate could BUY the software instead of pirating stuff.
