for the price you can get at power bodies or even the colin/sandy gsxr set up, there really isnt much point in spec'ing up a set yourslelf anymore......unless you can do all the machining/manufacturing of all components yourself

the AT Power bodies go for around 900 -1200 depending on filters and fuel line

Ok R1 bodies are too small, I used R6 bodies which were 36 or 38mm iirc then machined them out to 42mm with custom butterflies. All that effort and work was more than buying a pre made gsxr sandy brown kit. Plenty of second hand body kits are kicking around cheap

I disagree, i used R6 bodies (38mm) on my old setup and had no problems, and they certainly arent restrictive.
The AT power bodies are also 38mm, but tapered to suit the inlet port of the cylinder head.

Advice for the thread author, going by your requirements.
I would go for a set of AT power bodies and a predator ecu. And either a pair of cat cams 708s, Newman PH3's or Piper equivalent.
All plug and play and nice and easy to setup.

If you want to go chasing horse power then a sandy/Gsxr setup would be more suited so you can play with the induction length.
