Default Genres that will never be commersial / popular...

Just wondering what you think wont ever make it to the mainstream radio?

Lately seen dubstep and funky etc etc if ya get me... is making radio...

So why not others in the future.

I personally produce... Hardstyle / nustyle.

I know for a fact that hardstyle will never get the backing that dubstep has got...

What other genre's are nice and underground / listened to by a few?

Any genre can make it commercial. Within each genre you have sub genres and the commercial music should come within its own section called Commercial. Theres always going to be 'underground' music in each genre, but any genre can go commercial pretty easily.

Anyway, happy hardcore, donk music shouldnt go mainstream as its so fucking shit.

Yet it has...

There will allways be people like scooter aswell that steal melodys from the headhunterz, add a average kick and then release it with a video of people doing jumpstyle badly...

Everyone thinks its a new style and calls it the scooter dance etc.

Pisses me off.

Just how things are i guess.

Dubstep has made it's way onto radio? I don't see 'filthstep' (likes of Shekel, Level 67) ever making it on to the radio or into the "commercial scene". I bet the dubstep that has made it's way onto radio has been the utter rubbish that was produced on the Ministry of Sound dubstep album... I don't see Hardstyle/Dubstep making it's way onto radio as with Metal like really heavy metal. Although these genres are not commercial they are very popular within their 'community' (cannot think of a proper word). There are a lot of large communities supporting small underground genres.

I dunno, I agree with hardcore not making it big but Bullet For My Valentine and Trivium are pretty mainstream and they're Metalcore to the bone

any genre that sells is commercial.

Any genre where the producers are wanting/needing to make a living will from this be classed as a commercial entity.

Many people have mentioned genres as not being big, look outside the uk for example and the american market and you will see music not many people like here is infact one of the largest globally.

agree on the above i definitely want to go to Sensation Black and White in a couple of years! Going to see Showtek at creamfields though i love Hardstyle cant wait to go off my nut to it tbh i dont want it to go commercial etc music bores me when i hear it too much on radio/music tv etc and plus you get loads of idiots then pretending they love it and that they've always been into it.
