In what way isnt hardstyle commercial? By the time it gets played on radio 1 with kutski its pretty commercial imo.

Plus theirs the fact that everyone has heard of the shit commercial hardstyle producers such as Headhunterz, showtek, brennan heart etc.

Still Hardstyle is #1

Hardcore will never be fully commercialised as in regularly in the charts etc, and im fucking glad about it, its dickheads like darren styles making tunes for the charts that ruins the rave scene and destroys its credibility in my opinion.

And big shout whoever mentioned the Qlimax lasers before - they look fucking unreal!!!

To be honest having been in the music scene for many years, any type of music can and will at some point become popular.

I listen to a lot of hardcore and have played in many HC and punk bands. when i first started out we all thought we'd never see the day when radio 1 would play anything we liked let alone have an entire show dedicated to it!

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Scenesters will come and go, it's down to YOU to love what you love no matter what the "mainstream" are doing and stick with it. That way the music you like will never die out.

I personally can't wait for the bertie basset lookalike floppy haired wank stains to leave my type of music alone and go back to listening to techno. They're wrecking local music scenes round the country by not supporting the local bands properly.... but that's a whole other rant

Every Genre has its path doesnt it, First it emerges its head, then it becomes Popular, then one track Smashes it and makes commercial radio, Then it gets RAPED. Then it gets boring. Then it gets RUINED.

One example - UK Garage Loved it ( still do ) > Speed Garage ( loved the organ noise ) > 4X4 loved the deep warp basslines and vocals, Spawned a track by T2 called Heartbroken, That got shagged to death. Got boring, Then people started MCing to what we now call BASSLINE (4x4) and now its just gone moody, Sounds crap and would you believe it, They're Trying to revive it with a NEW Sub Genre called ' UK BASSLINE ' which if you dont know is basically UK Garage beats with 4x4 basslines on it and moody MC's ... i wonder which clever little ducky thought of that one .......
