If your getting a cage your might as well go a bit more hardcore. Is your cage gonna be a full cage, half cage, harness bars??

Good idea to get it made so if you need to add to it you can. I would also get top bracket. You never know, you might go crazy one day and get a full cage

That could well happen lol. I dont want a full cage just yet though as insurace will be a bit of an issue. for now i can declare the rear as a 'show cage' although its not lol.

Not much of a fan of the s wheels. Especially with the track, i see it as more of a subtle road car wheel. i ideally want some monza's of black super t's but money has denied me that privilege

Cheers man,
The seats are nice, should be nice and safe in a crash.
I'll get to all the trackday's i can do and afford.
I've got a mate with a standard furio, same colour, same year. Should be good for some track comparison. Do a bit of cars swapping to see the difference i have actually made.

I hear s wheels are lighter and i think they look 10X better than R wheels. Also you'll have wider tyres that way..

And more expensive tyres. tyres which the track will eat up. It's cheaper for tyres and wheels and i prefer the look of r wheels on my application

LOL
S wheels weigh a tonne
and are shit for brake cooling
they must be great track wheels...
(vtr wheels are also heavy and shit for cooling)

I knew they were bad for cooling, didn't know they weight more. would have thought so being 15's but you can never tell with wheels

theyre over 9kg each without tyres. so near 20kg with track tyres + air in
R wheels are marginally lighter, but have bigger profiled tyres, so you won't see a massive change in weight
you've also just got some heavy brakes adding more unsprung mass
remember, reducing unsprung weight can be far more beneficial than reducing sprung weight, heavy wheels are slower to react / accelerate... i beleive reducing 1kg of unsprung weight is equal to reducing 10kg of sprung weight in terms of performance

I know, but 266's aren't the heaviest of brakes. The lightest of the upgrades. The disks themselves aren't that heavy. And it's rotational weight your thinking of. The unsprung weight is just anything that moves with the wheel in direct link and not delayed by srings or dampers. That's why wider tyres aren't always a good option. They add a lot of rotational mass at the very edge of the wheel circumference (making a bigger centrifugal force).
It's all compromise.

but wheels and tyres are all not weighted on the suspension and thus unsprung rotational mass
btw, 4pots are lighter than 247mm set ups, so 266's arent that lightweight
although you raise a good point regarding compromise, decent track wheels with good rubber always provide the best solution, and arguably some of the best money spent, especially when cooling is considerd
my track wheels / tyres weigh less than 13kg each. Compare that to a set of the same tyres on vts wheels its a saving of around 20KG in total.
proper lightweight wheels may be something worth considering in the future
