Harv emptying it isn't my main goal lol. it's the fact that it is far nicer to the engine letting the crankcase breath and increases throttle response.

Yeah the course is awesome. really good events to go to and they really let you experiment on the cars in the workshop. At the events you get to go down the pits making contacts and talking to people etc. level 2 is pretty easy tbh then i have next year to complete the higher national diploma, then 2 years degree

You need to remove all the heaters etc etc from behind the dash. theres a LOT of weight to be shed from your car dude!
good to see someone of this age heading down the right route of modding with good ideas. Good luck with the build

The heaters are my only compromise. i know they weigh a lot but it's also a road car. winter doesn't give mercy to track cars. and the windscreen will keep misting up without them. i know i could get kit car heaters for the screen, but it all costs money

Started getting the foot well sound deadening up today. Took a while but weighed a lot for a few mm of material. Just need to get some more white spirit to get the residue off.

looks awesome mate, will be a great track car no doubt...obviously not a track car until it's been on track though
what is the raceland induction kit like? i wanted to get one in a couple weeks but doesn't look like it's easy to fit...

it wasn't the best to fit. i still need to make up some ally brackets for it. the kit itself is good. you need the green filter for it though.

Today i did some more cage prepping for the welding. I also put on some 106 wheel i picked up for £15 to replace a flat and a bald. Bargain!
I took the front sectin back out and tilted the cage forward to allow access for the top mounts. these are bolted to the top mounts and then welded to the cage feet. stiffens the chassis far better than the OMP cages that go to the arches. just a bit of dremal work was needed. and sanding the welding surfaces.

Today i thought i would tidy the rear of the car. What with all the carpet fluff and sound proofing left over. Also on the agenda is to mount the roll cage base mounts onto the rear beam bolt points.
A before shot of the rear arches
And after hours of heat gunning and white spirit it's finally all gone.
The mounts Fitted and ready for welding the cage up.

Got round to the residue on the foot wells finally. Pain in the arse, 2 hours of putty knife and white spirit but at last..
I started on the passenger side but got incredibly bored so decided to remove the rest of the sound proofing from behind the dash.
Finished the general shaping of the ally dash piece. Looks pretty swish. Next step is to get it filed down and wire wooled to a brushed finish.
Its only resting in place so excuse the gaps.

Painting the grill has always been on the agenda. I was thinking about meshing it etc but everybody on here has them so i though i would do something a bit different. (ok i think a few have done it but not many)
I'm painting the chevrons black and then painting the 2 horizontal slats red.
I'll have pictures up when it's finished
