Buying a car with a mileage discrepancy?
So there’s a VTR for sale near me for 595 and I had a look around it and the shell is actually pretty clean for the price so I was considering test driving it and maybe buying if i couldn’t find any major rot issues.
Problem is I checked the MOT history on it and it says at the last MOT it has 90k on it then I looked back at the older ones and it’s 120k, it’s just the last MOT that says 90k and I’m really not sure why they would bother clocking a car they’re selling for 600 quid it just seems odd. I'm wondering if maybe the clocks failed on it and they had to switch them out which would make sense as I know this happens sometimes.
I don’t actually care about the mileage it’s more about getting a clean shell these days. Could the mileage be corrected on the MOT history if It’s some kind of error or should I just stay away from this car ?
It’s a shame as it doesn’t look bad for the price and for 595 I’d probably be willing to give it a go as a bit of a project
