Just buy a book to start off with, beginners one with cd to play along to, then once you've learnt the basic chords, just keep playing and getting to grips with chord sequences and changing.

it might be worth having just a couple of lessons too so you don't get into any bad habits, get used to hand postions etc. then just practise, practise, practise!! if you need and bits and bobs, I have guitar stuff in my spare room that Ive been meaning to sell for ages now. PM if you want any info on what I have.
