stanton ortefons(60 quid pair)

F lol. Stanton and Ortofon are 2 different brands.
xlr cables are not designed for sound quality, but for running long lengths without picking up interference. absolutely not recommended for an audiophile setup. Besides, if you want to have an audiophile system, you just don't use a DJ setup at all.

you should have seen them before they were refurbished, scratched to hell and beyond (damaged all around). Who cares about the aesthetics when the purpose was to enhance the sound quality?

im looking to start collecting vinyl, but im after northern soul and trojan reggae. they're abit pricey, but sound amazing.
anyone recommend a good vinyl player, after the old kind of sound, nothing modern. Want to hear that crispy noise they make

The best place to look for cheap records is definitely charity shops. I found a lot of stuff for literally pennies, and very often mint condition.
Also, here is another one from another mate
The feet cost more than the deck itself.

That's more like it. Those feet the isonode ones? (I think that's what they're called...virtually decoupling the decks from the feet with diamond pointed tips....no?)

The sound comes from the vinyl, the audible analogue hiss and crackle...not the turntable itself.
If you want your records to shine the way the producer and artist intended, you need a decent turntable and more importantly, decent carts. Grado are a good compromise between sound quality and price/longevity. HTH!

These cost more than the deck itself lol. Cant remember the name, but isonodes look like ball halves.

Yeah those feet are incredibly expensive, and arguably aren't really worth it other than for show off factor alone. Doubtful that someone would buy a technics but spend £15 to £20k on everything else in the sound chain. If they had that kinda money, they'd be spending utter dickhead amounts on the turntable, arm and stylus!
