Tablets
Right guys/girls im after a tablet but dont know which one I want, options are:
(1) Ipad 2
(2) Samsung Galaxy Tab
(3) Asus Transformer
It will be used mainly for note taking in uni and general web browsing.
Anyone have one that they care to share their opinion on?

I always noticed how people always point out that it's a slow process to type stuff on these machines, have you considered getting a laptop, just so you can type notes on an actual keyboard?
In your case I would go for the asus but a traditional laptop will have a bigger screen size.

I have got a laptop atm, 15" acer with an I3 processor but its too bulky for carrying to uni all the time and the fact that it needs plugging in after 2.5 hours gets annoying considering each lecture is 2 hours long.
I'm leaning more towards the Asus Transformer atm as it's about £420 with the keyboard dock and as they will see the Ice Cream Sandwich update in january.
Thanks for being the only one to reply though mate

no worries..
I thought a new laptop would have been the more obvious choice but that's just me as I am thinking mainly in terms of keyboard and bigger screen size. Tablets are still fairly new technology and look toyish to me.

i've got a samsung galaxy tab 10.1 and it's awesome had a problem with the first one but not had an issue with the second it's been brilliant
it's all done to personal preference if you get an apple you'll be loved by everyone who likes apple but hated by the rest lol
Samsung galaxy tab is probably not the best choice even though i have one because samsung and apple are going through a big law suit because the galaxy tab looks to similar to the ipad, which i think is bollocks tbh

Yeah I've heard they are shit based on the fact that blackberrys OS is utter bollocks and not likely to take off as much as Android or IOS.
Would like an element of futureproofing
Thinking about it theres the new kindle fire coming out shortly in this country

Our directors use them and I've had a play. They seem quite smart tbh
There is Android ability on th v2 update and they are LOADS quicker than the iPad when multitasking
One nifty feature is you can connect wirelessly to a BB (if yuo have one) to read and respond to emails and stuff

craig you can do that with most phones now where you can connect your tablet to your phone and utilise the internet data usage on your phone
it all depends on how much you're willing to pay lol and what you like

if you want to do it cheap just get the ipad 1 (plenty about still)
Can pick them up cheap and you can add the apps like recorder etc.. to record lectures and take notes etc...
As with all apple mobile devices no flash support.
No need for the 3G ipad if you dont feel you need the internet on the move/want to pay for it. You can tether it to a mobile device if you need to, im going to tether mine with my phone.

I didn't mean tethering for data, I meant BB Bridge, a bit like what iCloud does for apple products
