'Performance' air filter question
I was reading the FAQs about air filters and noticed the panel air filter simply replaces the standard, would this increase/not effect efficiency as well as increase performance, or would it also decrease efficiency?
Thanks guys.

it would probably decrease efficiency but to be honest it'll be so minimal you wont even notice. especially on a 1.1

To be honest mate, both lol. I had one on my car. you could probably expect to gain a horse. with regards to the efficiency, as i say, it'll be so minimal you wont even notice.
A performance panel filter is supposed to be the best way to go "performance" wise as the filter is shielded from heat in its box. hope this helps matey

what what what1!!
the panel filter is (in theory) a better replacement to the standard paper filter. better filtration thus better efficiency, thus better engine performance.
(in theory)

I paid £35 dude.
for a Green Cotton Panel Filter.
they dont need replacing anywhere near as often as a paper filter, just a little clean every now and again.
saves money in the long run.

Just thought.. I suppose this would this be classed as a modification that would increase engine performance in the eyes of insurers.. hmm. Any thoughts on that?

Fair enough, I might just contact insurers and see what they say.

Cool, well I might look around at shops in town, see what they can do, and I also might wait a while anyway, as I have just had a new air filter put in other week hehe.
