hows it goin lads, fitted my race land this week end, i had a rough idea of how to do it but this guide helped me loads. its a good guide and for all of you that are a bit cautious of doing it, dont be!! it is easy realy i meen im a mechanic but i watched my m8 do it and i guided him an he couldnt believe how easy it was and he has trouble fitting a wheel never mind tapping a hole in his block!!!! just want to say thanks to the lad that made the guide. just a quick question tho, once fitted has any body had any sealing problems i.e downpipe (mani) to the rest of the system??? i was told there was ment to be some sort of cone type seal???? myn makes a buzzing sound once let of the throttle it sounds like its leaking. cheers for any help

glad the guide has come in use to you m8 thankyou.
where is the noise coming from? the bottom of the manifold or the top?
did you use new gaskets at the top and a new exhaust fitting kit at the bottom including a new gasket and spring bolts etc? could be blowing i would reckon. let me know

i used new gaskets at the top (head end) but i was told there maybe a "cone" type gasket at the other end(end with 2 nut&bolts and springs??? wen i removed the old one there wasnt one? its a buzzing sound once let of the throttle, not so much an obvious blowing or hissing more of a buzzing? its not a raspy buzz either. i put sum exhaust sealant round the joint but nothing changes. its quite anoin lol!!!!! i h8 cars some times.....trucks are my area lol!!!!can strip down trucks peice of piss but a simple manifold on a 1.6 engine i cnt seal the f**ker!

To be honest m8 i dont know maybe about 5bhp if you cat is in your current manifold and it becomes de-cat. Best bet is get on a RR then you will know for sure and alot of thers would prob like to know what the gains are with just the manifold.

If you look near the beginning of the guide there are some pics of the copper sleeve i made for the lambda sensor, that should be after the cat. That must read clean air otherwise the engine management light will come on. So you cant put it in the manifold as the air will be very poor

Yes the 1st Sensor that you take out of the top of the standard manifold goes in the only hole on the Raceland. The 2nd Sensor will need to go into a sleeve, which i said above are available from GMC. Or you can always make 1 from copper piping, like I posted a pic up in this thread.
