Airbag light - aftermarket steering wheel..
I know its been asked alot but my mot is due today and i need to get this fixed.. like now :|
anyways.. i replaced the steering wheel with an omp replica..
while i removed the standard wheel, i kinda broke the airbag connector ring thingy majiggy.. which left me with this..
Do i just soldier a resistor between the 2 wires at the end there? any help/replies asap would be appreciated!!
also, i had bucket seats for a while, which ment i unplugged the seat wires too.. standard seats back in and wires are plugged in again, so these shouldnt be a problem right?..
cheers - Dano

I used LMGTFY, came back with this: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=417498
In the other ex-thread I also pointed out that it should fail. The new MOT requirements include factory wheel with airbag.

For once, Manu makes a valid point
The new regs mean if any part of the system i fitted, it should all work. (think I'm right there Manu?) IIRC, if it's ALL removed, then it's ok.

Not sure, I read the airbags have to be there if they were in there when they came out of the factory. Let's see what happens, and in case of a fail it's an easy fix unlike if you had rusty arches or something similar.

Well there's not a sniff of airbag in my car at all - not even the wiring or the dash light (hell, not even a standard dash ). I should probably check out where I stand with that!

i have had my car recently mot'd two weeks ago
i have a omp corsica on mine and used resitiors for the seats and for the wheel so the airbag light came on with ignition then when out as it should
i had no advisory about it being an aftermarket wheel or anything like that

Cheers for the replys people
I still have the standard wheel/airbag, its just i dont have the connector ring anymore and it broke taking it out :|
ill put it through the mot with the current wheel on and see how it goes, local garage does re-tests for free within 12 days, so its not a problem
Thanks again

It migth not fail.. It should do but if you get a friendly tester then you should be ok. Mine went for its MOT without the pretensioners under the seat connected (A/B light on) and only got an advisory.
Let us know how you get on.
