Took me ages to do this so finally doing a write up from the Sax-P Nurburgring trip.
For me it was very hectic, it all went wrong once I arrived at the hotel.
Before I set off I had to change my drive shaft because it had excessive movement on the cv joint and was knocking badly (didn't however check if they were both the same, the start of my problems).
Then I was already late to set off from Stafford, my back left tyre had a huge crack all around the tyre wall, thanks to l20vts for letting me use her stuff, my new tyre rubbed on the arches so out come the angle grinder to shave off some metal
Got my euros all ready
Then made my way to Nuneaton to meet up with them all at Josh's and for some lunch before setting off for the travelodge in Kent
Alex blabbering on
Convoy to kent
My car was sabotaged
Ready to board the ferry, woman at customs laughed at fritzel on my front bumper, thanks lea.
All ready to go!
Bye bye England
All happy, that was soon to change!
Got to the hotel and quickly realised there was a big problem with my car. On the entire journey my car was pulling hard to the left, thought it was my right caliper sticking but once I jacked it up noticed excessive play on the bearing, realised it had collapsed.
In short went next morning to get another bearing pressed in without realising I had the wrong drive shaft so it went almost straight away, thanks to lee wigmore for coming with me to Mayen and providing me with emotional support lol.
On arrival we went straight to the track to watch the action
Shed ha
Pete was wrecked off the drive:
Realised there was no point feeling sorry so just enjoyed the weekend and forget about it.
Went to pinochios for beer and pizza
Audi A6 on air when I went to get my wheel bearing
Went for a walk of the track
F1 circuit
Group
Steak house on the last day, food was lovely.
On the last day I set off 4 hours before everyone else and did a constant 50mph, stopped in Belgium for some food was an ok drive in the end, the humming wheel bearing actually became soothing lol
Made it to the ferry.
Met up with everyone else, some only just caught it
Leaving Dunkirk
Weather was spectacular on the last day
Past a large ship on the way
Best part of the trip.
I went all the way from Adenau to my grans in Stafford on a tank
I really enjoyed it and I'm glad I finally went, felt like a long time coming. Despite the issues I made it home in one piece met some great people and would go again. Was frustrating I wasn't able to fully learn the track like I wanted to but the experience alone was great.
