One of the things on the road slower than my 106.
Actually no, we briefly had a 206 1.9 Diesel, I've seen horse and carts accelerate quicker!

Would rather a hdi, but dturbos are cheaper to insure than hdi's

Yes but on TDOUK they say go for a D Turbo as the bottom end can take more boost, plus they are easier to tune, can take a XUD to 220bhp for around 1500-2000 to take a HDI to that power you're looking around 3000 since parts are more expensive.

I really would love to put an XUD in this at some point, I'll keep this thread going, never know one day I might

Ahh, fair play, I'd get an XUD because they are cheaper to tax and insure, is just fit all the face lift parts

And do it!!

Right gave it a clean today just to show where it is right now, the car has awful paint right now, doesn't look like it's been clayed or polished EVER, used my Dodo juice supernatural and two bucket method, Supernatural gives off a bit of a shine I've noticed and I attempted to polish it but the paint is like sand paper so gave up.

I want to sort the dents out gonna try to push the drivers door from the inside and same with the one on the boot, going to touch up the small areas with a pen and give it a detail to remove all the scratches, the little bits of white look like the car has been driven through some Tar markings on the road so will have to remove them.

I still thank Tom on here the height is spot on and as the front has settled you can clearly see it's down lower on the front which I always wanted, also any lower on the back and my wheels would rub since they are very tight now.

I'm starting to love this car a lot even though it's a slow diesel, for £200 to what it is now I really can't complain, it's been a cracking car so far

Some of the interior, so much more comfortable than before:

I also worked out the car currently stands me at £655 but I've already made over £1,000 in fuel savings in 2 and a half months and I've done all the big jobs on the car. Might even start running it on veg in the summer

An Update:

The car is going pretty good right now, drives amazing no issues it's a cracking car I'm really falling in love lol. Even got my record to a tank last time i brimmed it and in nearly 2 weeks I did 635miles to a tank, worked it out and that equates to about an average of 65mpg! I was expecting good when buying this car but not that good.

The one thing I'm considering changing/fixing is the glow plugs on this car have never been good, they do start the car but it's a bit smokey for the first few moments when starting, worth the risk changing them from this video?

Also a quick morning picture, the weather is stunning here today not a cloud in the sky tempted to go for a blast somewhere.

Thanks

Preston is a bit of a treck haha I remember driving to Blackburn once on a cold Tuesday evening to watch Sunderland play an FA Cup game, weather is lovely though. Why are you fitting a strut, is it the fucked hub?

It's probably just worn valves letting a bit of oil past and into the cylinders.

I wouldn't worry about it at all, it'll only do it on startup.

I miss the DTurbo XUD from the 405 could hear from ages clattering away up the road

I can't seem to play your video either :o

Cheers mate, I'm thinking of doing that I'm sure they are only about £16 for a set?

I've got a really bad cold today and I hate sitting in the house when Ill so found a job I've been meaning to do on the car for quite a while.

Jayline kindly gave me some VTR calipers for free but they had horrible paint flaking off on them:

So I wire brushed them up and cleaned them a bit:

I used Hammerite Hammered effect black paint, I like this effect as it looks stock and it matches my wheels really good.

Here's what they looked like after:

And with the wheel back on:

Much better
