With the interior of the black Sax out, we could start fitting the new one
The original carpet was water damaged to the point where it couldn't be reused. So we got some yellow paint and decided to paint the floor.
At the same time we started the PlayStation glovebox build
Neon gas tubes:
Sub gain control:
We mounted a front camera to the outside of the black Saxo.
Floor painted

Cheers mate. And I've not forgotten to send you a message once the Gavin and Stacey goes up for sale. Which will hopefully be sometime in September, after the honeymoon.

Looks like food was a big part of this adventure, and why not . Just out of interest who came up with the ideas as to what to put in, or was it a brain storming contribution from both you and the best men?

We offered free food and beers to anyone who came round to lend us a hand haha. The cars were a combination of what we would've driven at 17-18 and whatever came up locally at a reasonable price. Despite the ridiculous rush towards the end they turned out really well.

We bought a ground loop isolator and low noise 230v inverter for the PS2 to reduce as much of the noise as we could, and allow us to play the PS2 though the cars speakers.
We abandoned the Cobra buckets re-drilled the custom brackets to fit some E87 BMW 1-Series Sport seats we picked up last year

This is looking like a good thread. About time I found an up to date project that's still ongoing, keep it up!

Enjoying reading this.
How comes you went for those seats out of all available? If you've got to mount new frames did you not think of something like nice leather Recaro's out of an old Ford or something? Although they'd be a pretty penny thinking about it!
Keep it updated, as I said enjoying seeing an active progress thread!

Cheers mate. The wedding has actually gone, it was on 26th August 2017, but I’m still playing catch up with the progress. I try to update the thread as often as possible but it takes time to sort through the pictures. We’ve got big plans for the Icelandic though – so we’ll keep this thread going for a while yet.

Thanks man. We originally bought the 1990s Cobra seats to go in the Saxo, but we didn’t like the colour and when we tried to dye the fabric, it was too bright and it failed completely. The reason we got the BMW seats is because we spotted them on eBay one night, they were local and had no interest, so we bid £20 and ended up winning them. After that we thought we might as well fit them.

That's fair enough, bargain for that money and they are a comfy seat to be fair! A lot better than standard.
Going through this thread makes me want to get another Saxo!

Yeah, they’re in really good condition too, the rears look like they’ve never been used. There are sets of E87 seats the same as ours on eBay at £300+, which is probably more than the car is worth haha.
Do it man. Our VTS is going up for sale shortly…
