you could try fancy screen cleaning stuff?
check the owners guide should be something on recommended cleaning methods, if you use whipes on the screen only do so when it is turned off and leave to dry for 2-3 hours before using. there are lots of different types of lcd and the film varies on each so research the model of TV

I use a drop of water on some kitchen paper.
I HATE marks on my screens.

They normally come with a cloth. Generally a very close woven fabric, that doesnt drop any bits. Most of them recommend using that only.

Use a standard J cloth and soak it in warm water, rinse it out so it's as dry as you can get it with your hands. Fold it up so you've got a decently sized square shape and wipe your screen. Allow to dry naturally and your screen will be pristine. I've been cleaning my LCD TV's and monitors this way for years, best way by far!
This is also the best way to clean dust from the edge of your TV or your PS3 (You know that horrible plastic that attracts dust).
Can i ask what you used to clean it? If you used cleaning products you could well have the smearing on there permanently.
