Default Any Propellerhead Reason Users ?

Just recently had my copy that work bought for me, of Reason 6.5.

The real life SSL Mixer emu is class. Sound quality is wonderful and there's also Pulveriser tool which I love.

Fucking awesome is the only word I can use to describe this software.

Any of you guys on Reason ? If you are, Get 6 / 6.5 you wont look back again !

Yeah I was the same..... Been using Reason since day one.

At first I used 6.5 and was like errrr, its kinda slowed me down but it all makes sense after a short time.

As I say the SSL mixer puts the 14:2 to shame lol.

You still group stuff onto a 14:2 but ultimately you defo should put the final output of that synth or whatever it is, on to an SSL channel.

Its fucking great mate get yourself a copy.

Using it rewired because the sound quality is still muddy. Otherwise nice synths and layout.

The SSL mixer is much better sound quality for a final path, than using the old 14:2, I don't really consider it muddy at all. But I suppose its personal preference.

I'd say personal experience as I have been using propellerheads stuff since rebirth and was on reason since 2.5, it does sounds muddy compared to other daws, probably has to do because they have their own pre-encoding/rendering logarithm.. that said they tend to improve with each version. Is the record function there now or do you still to have to pay extra for it? Can you now import lossy formats, or videos for that matter?

Now I'm not all rant about it, it's fantastic when rewired, and the rack format is awesome. Also fun to have competitions with your mates about who's got the biggest rack until the computer crashesand somewhat useful to see how much your computer can handle...

Yes it is.... You can record straight in now, import any audio and time stretch stuff to tempo in 2 clicks. Which works really well.

Yeah, thats pretty funny actually, have shit loads of instruments and wait till the cpu shits itself.

I have another few tools for recording and timestretching, check this mother out for instance:

http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/

You can stretch a 2 second sample into 2 weeks if you want (well, your hard drive size is the limit). Works in 32 bit + icing on the cake: it's free.

Used reason 4 i think for a while until i changed to mac.

Have logic but 13" screen is a bit painful to work with.

Want to start producing again but need to get some moneys up for monitors and midi keyboard etc

A basic keyboard that will do you until you have more funds shouldn't cost you much Craig. You looking to stick with logic ?

A basic midi keyboard goes for peanuts, and aldis regularly sell some fairly sized yamahas for dirt cheap.

Hmm shall have to look around then.

And yeah will be sticking with logic, used it for a few years at college etc so know it a bit.

Truth be told, I miss FLstudio for mocking up loops etc. Was so quick to get ideas down.

It's what you get used to tbh. What ever you're comfortable with.
